How to Host the HOTTEST Summer Party!

There’s something about early summer that just aches for celebration. It’s time to relax by the pool, hang out with old friends, and sip pink lemonade on your porch or on the beach. And if you (like me) are on a budget this summer, and you can’t vacation nearly as you would like, a great way to bring the vacation home is to host a summer party. Buy a new towel, maybe a colorful floaty or two, and make a splash!

Beach themed pool parties are simple to throw and always a lot of fun. It’s a great excuse to make refreshing, summery drinks. One of my favorites is the “Cranberry Fizz”,which is mix of cranberry juice and lemonade…or with cranberry liqueur (instead of juice) and a dash of white rum if you so choose. Delicious!

Summer parties are perfect for kids because this time of year offers so many opportunities outside where they’ll have fun without making a huge mess. A great idea we saw was a party at an Environmental Center, which is a simple way to get kids excited about learning in a fun and active way:

Also, it’s hard to believe, but 4th of July is just around the corner! Luckily, that means there’s another opportunity to get creative with patriotic festivities. One of my favorite blogs for party planning of all varieties is Celebrations at Home.  There’s even a recent post featuring an “All American” Backyard Picnic! The photos of the ice cream cookie dessert table are mouth-watering. All together, the end result is an adorable aesthetic look that evokes nostalgic memories of relaxed, all-American fun.

I love the glass bottles and red, white, and blue pinwheels. Simple details and vintage style really make a party memorable and unique.

Decorating can be super easy, especially for 4th of July when there’s a color scheme to follow! A bright tablecloth is a good place to start. Next, Bella Grace Party Designs provides some adorable 4th of July free printables that are perfect for stickers on jars of jam (or cupcakes-in-a-jar!), gift tags, or can even be used for scrap booking purposes later. Cute and easy.

Of course, the invitation is also important as the first step of party planning! Everyone loves getting invitations, and you’ll want to be sure that the invitation suits your party’s style. We’ve been busy working on lots of new invitations that make us really excited to throw the perfect summer party.

Check out letterbox.com for more! We also have a special on bag tags, which are fun to use as goody bags/party favors so guests can attach them to their summer beach bags and travel gear.

Let us know below how you celebrate your summer….we’d love to see your photos!
